Saturday 18th October 2003 saw Wab794 taking passengers to the Dannevirk Garden Expo.

Wab climbing the Matahiwi Bank Climbing the Matahiwi Bank. This bank is just north of Woodville and has a grade of 1 in 54. The Wab did not drop below 10 kph climbing this hill.

Unloading Passengers at Totara College Garden Expo The purpose of the excursion was to take passengers to the expo, and also run a return trip north from the expo. Here you can see our staff assisting children from the carriage.

Climbing a long hill Just north of Dannevirke is a 1 in 47 grade climb. This was the hardest work Wab 794 has done since pulling the diesel test locomotive a few months ago.

Some of the Feilding Steam Rail Team This is some of the Feilding Steam team on the train.
The driver and fireman are active members of Feilding Steam Rail. Bryson an active member is fighting cancer and he can be seen in the fireman's seat. Bryson rode in the Cab from Palmerston North to Feilding after the carriages were uncoupled. Bryson died on the 17th November 2003.
