This carriage is known to us as the ex Royal Carriage and came to us with F163 when the F group in Palmerston North closed.

Soon after arriving at Feilding and Districts Steam Rail.

A tarp has been put over the roof to stop water getting in.

During the early years at the F Group this carriage as taken on trips and was very useful as it was fitted with a kitchen.

It is has been moved to under cover storage in the carriage shed.

These photos show the main compartment from either end. Behind the kitchen is a service area and the now-enclosed viewing platform from where the Queen would have waved from.
