We have have purchased the old Ravensdown rail siding and storage buildings, with money lent to us from the Manawatu District Council.
The sheds left on the site will house up to three locos, and seven carriages.
There are a number of small buildings that have been added to the depot since we bought it.

In time for winter, a sensor light has been installed above door of the lunchroom near the main gate.
Good for those dark nights when the Wab returns from it's fortnightly Overlander trips.

The February 2004 flooding in Feilding caused major damage in the Feilding shopping centre, but not much damage at Feilding Steam Rail. The water flooded the turntable pit and the large pit in the workshop, but this was quickly pumped out. Quite a lot of water went through the carriage shed but caused no damage. The flooding did foul the points in the yard and damaged the timber work around the points. Our staff can be seen here cleaning out the points. Photo by Stan Jenkins.

We need a good supply of wood to light up Wab 794 and the F 163. We get slab wood from a timber mill and cut it to manageable lenghts, and stack the wood on pallets for easy storage. Photo by Stan Jenkins.

One of the activites at 2000 Rail Federation conference was a visit to our depot, many people visited the site and were able to see what we had planned for the future, ie sidings, and covered secure storage space. Photo by Stan Jenkins.
